Cercis canadensis Forest Pansy

DESCRIPTION: Medium-sized, low maintenance, deciduous tree with a neat habit and dense foliage. Autumn leaves colour to gold in cooler areas. A compact, mounded deciduous tree. During spring it is covered in masses of rosy-pink flowers. The purple heart-shaped foliage matures to bronzey-red.

 

TREE CARE: Plant in a well drained and well worked soil. Take care to plant the bud union above the soil level. Water in well and keep the soil moist until the tree is established. Fertilise when planting and again after new growth appears. Prune to shape if necessary.
