Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei Hopi Crepe Myrtle

Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei Hopi Crepe Myrtle

DESCRIPTION: A small sized, deciduous tree with vibrant pink blooms throughout summer. This hybrid variety has a greater resistance to powdery mildew and is highly recommended. The bark has lovely patterns and is a highlight feature of this ornamental tree. This tree also gives an impressive, autumn foliage display.

USES: A spectacular specimen tree suited to street plantings. A great avenue tree and a perfect choice for large garden beds. POSITION: Prefers a moist, well draining soil rich in organic matter. Thrives in sunny locations protected from hot, dry winds.

CARE: Mulch well to conserve soil moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilise in spring and prune to shape as required. Mulching will improve soil structure and ensure a cool root zone.

PLANTING: Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so the soil level is the same as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist.
