Very unusual dwarf Japanese Maple whose green leaves have five thread-like lobes giving it the Japanese name for ‘Old harp strings’.
FEATURES: Very slow growing. ideal for Bonsai or pot culture. Requires a fertile slightly acid soil, work in peat or composted bark.
CONDITIONS: Prefers cool. deep. moisture retentive soil in a sheltered site.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Provide adequate Summer water. Mulch with organic material (e.g. straw). Shelter from drying Summer heat and wind.
PLANTING IDEAS AND USES: Does well in containers, excellent shade or lawn specimen, feature with ‘cool site’ plants such as rhododendrons and azaleas.
